Transcience, The Inkwell ~ 2022

The second semesterly issue I edited with the PublishEd team for The Inkwell was that of Transcience. This time around, we wanted to collate pieces that explored "anything from the significance of passing time, the ever changing, the unfixed, feelings of volatility" or however else the theme could be interpreted. This issue was smaller than the last as the majority of the committee were busy fourth year students who didn't have as much time to spare, what with dissertations and endless coursework commitments. But the team managed to pull together and release a beautiful issue of compiled works.

Here is Transcience, the spring/summer edition of The Inkwell:

This edition definitely felt a lot darker than the first; darker in both the theme and the art work. I like that it is so different to the first edition we did, and also that a few of the contributors wrote and submitted artwork for both magazines - it really shows that writers and artists don't have to fit into one dimension. Creativity is ever-changing and ever-fluid and these contributors definitely showed that.

I am so happy with the work that was produced during my time as copy-editor for The Inkwell. Joining the society was definitely a great way to get some industry experience and a taste for what a potential career could look like. I'm proud of myself for pushing out of my comfort zone and becoming a part of something great.
